SHOWTEK & OOKAY UNVEIL SECOND COLLAB ‘BT1’ VIA SKINK RECORDS
Reuniting for their second collaboration, Showtek and Ookay merge old and new with new single BT1 via SKINK Records.
Dutch duo Showtek have amassed global acclaim for memorable collaborations with the likes of Tiësto, Moby, Wyclef Jean, Steve Aoki, Major Lazer, Timmy Trumpet and more. Singles like Bad (feat. Vassy) with David Guetta currently contain over 529M Spotify streams while collaboration with iconic trio Major Lazer has amassed over 89M Spotify streams.
Launching their career with the world’s no.1 Hardstyle anthem FTS, brothers Wouter Janssen and Sjoerd Janssen have conquered the international dance music industry with major releases on the likes of Spinnin’, Armada, Ultra, and Parlophone that have seen recognition from fans, producers, and media all over the world. Their success has seen them earn high energy mainstage performances across major festivals inducing Coachella, EDC Las Vegas, Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, Creamfields, Lollapalooza, and more.
Meanwhile, California native Ookay has quickly emerged as one of the most impressive spearheads of the American trap scene since his debut releases on Ultra Records exploded into the Top 10 on Beatport. Influenced by the likes of Borgore, DJ Snake, and Skrillex, the multi-faceted producer and DJ has drawn acclaim for remixes of Steve Aoki, Chris Lake, and Tujamo’s Boneless as well as teaming up with heavyweight Diplo for rework of Avicii’s You Make Me.
The producer’s previous collaboration with Showtek Bouncer reached no.3 overall on the Beatport Chart and became a staple at festivals across the country, helping to build his reputation as a charismatic performer and sleek MC across venues like EDC Las Vegas, Electric Zoo, Red Rocks, and Tomorrowland. Supported by heavyweight producers like Tiësto, Steve Aoki, Major Lazer, Borgore, Nervo, David Guetta, and more, Ookay is swiftly rising above the ranks.
Meeting by chance in the midst of the pandemic when Showtek accidentally joined Ookay’s Instagram live stream where he was debuting a snippet of what would become BT1, the stars aligned for the established artists to unite for the deliriously upbeat track. Drawing from 80s-inspired dynamic bounce, BT1 dips into old school joy and elevates the senses as an exhilarating modern classic.
