William Black Recruits Blanke and Alt-Pop Artist MGRD on Rocktronic, Midtempo-Driven Breakup Ballad “Goodbye” via Lost In Dreams Records – OUT NOW

William Black

The Denver-based melodic bass powerhouse recruits the dynamic force Blanke and alt-pop singer MGRD for the next single pulled from his highly anticipated album, a midtempo and rocktronic-laced breakup ballad.

William Black enlists Blanke and MGRD for “Goodbye,” a cinematic dubstep cut arriving September 26th on Lost In Dreams. The single marks the fifth reveal from William’s forthcoming studio album, pairing two of melodic bass’ most recognizable names with a rising voice from alt-pop.

“Goodbye” wrestles with the silence of a breakup that’s long overdue, capturing the ache of unsaid words when parting ways with someone who was always destined to leave. MGRD’s velvety topline anchors the narrative, unraveling heartbreak across a cinematic introduction that builds with driving guitar riffs and brooding rocktronic melodies. The tension peaks as the track detonates into midtempo drops before lifting into a soaring melodic bass finale, balancing brute force with emotional release.

Painting a picture of what feeling is captured by his new collab, William Black says, “‘Goodbye’ is about that heart sinking moment when someone leaves you, and you’re left with the silence of everything unsaid.”

The collaboration underscores William Black’s continued evolution as one of melodic bass’ most influential figures. Fresh off the success of his recent single “Monster,” which pulled in over 350K streams within weeks and earned radio play from Illenium and Frank Walker. Black is in the midst of unveiling his most ambitious album yet.

His music has drawn consistent support across SiriusXM, Wave Music, Arctic Empire, and countless tastemaker outlets, while his live schedule includes festival appearances at Goldrush, Dooms Night, and Ember Shores, plus tour support for SLANDER’s ‘Voyager’ tour and headlining stops at Pure Nightclub, The Republik, Harrah’s The Pool After Dark, Boulder Theater, Aggie Theatre, and Time Nightclub.

Blanke brings his versatile edge to the collaboration, a producer equally at home in the crushing world of dubstep and the emotive expanse of melodic bass. With releases alongside Illenium, REZZ, Seven Lions, and Zeds Dead, he continues to operate at the highest level across bass music’s spectrum. His current run includes Nocturnal Wonderland, REZZ’s ‘PORTAL’ show, and further dates with SLANDER on their ‘Voyager’ tour.

MGRD rounds out the trio with her alt-pop sensibility, a project launched by singer-songwriter Megan Redmond. Her emotive delivery threads seamlessly through “Goodbye,” adding a raw pop immediacy to the track’s heavy, layered production.

Together, William Black, Blanke, and MGRD deliver a single that bridges the raw catharsis of dubstep with the vulnerability of alt-pop, further solidifying Lost In Dreams as a hub for emotionally resonant bass music. “Goodbye” lands as both a crushing breakup anthem and another step toward William Black’s most revealing body of work to date.
