Los Angeles producer Slowpalace returns to NIGHTMODE with his sophomore single “bettr off,” marking the end of a brief release hiatus and ushering in a new chapter for his genre-fluid project.
Out September 5, the track showcases his ability to transform heavy bass foundations into emotionally-charged soundscapes that straddle intensity and vulnerability. Rooted in bass house but pulling inspiration from the golden age of complextro and brostep, “bettr off” twists falsetto-laced hooks through flickering synth sequences, with staccato leads slicing against growling sawtooth basslines and restless drum programming.
The result is a dark yet uplifting undercurrent, pulsing like a heartbeat and mirroring the track’s theme of closure and renewal.
