Two of Australia’s most exciting forces in dance music — Human Movement and KLP — join together on ‘Restart’, a hypnotic new single out now on Gallery Recordings. Fusing KLP’s soaring, emotive vocals with Human Movement’s deep, rolling production, the track captures the electricity of late-night euphoria in four minutes of tension and release.
Ten years into a journey marked by relentless dedication, Lebanese-Australian artist and producer Human Movement (aka Edward Macdonald) unveils his most definitive work to date. After a decade of navigating the unpredictable highs and lows of the music industry, Macdonald’s new single, ‘Restart’ more than just a song, it’s a declaration. Driven by a classic rhythms, a nostalgic M1 bass, and the angelic vocals of KLP, ‘Restart’ is a cathartic club anthem that captures the very moment Macdonald found his way back.
“‘Restart’ came at a time when I felt like I was starting over again. It captures a new idea and style for me, and it’s by far the catchiest track I’ve made. With KLP on the vocal, everything finally clicked—and it’s become my favourite song yet”, says Human Movement.
“Working with Human Movement on this tune was such an easy and fluid experience. I’ve been of fan of his music for some time now so when he reached out with this idea I was so keen to jump in and be involved”, says KLP.
Fresh off standout moments — KLP’s debut at Hï Ibiza on August 27 and Human Movement’s recent run of acclaimed club and festival sets — the pair channel their momentum into a collaboration that feels both instinctive and finely crafted. It follows a string of global buzz releases for each: KLP’s Running with Dombresky & CHANEY (Insomniac Records) and If U Want My Heart with Kettama & DJ Heartstring (Steel City Dance Discs); and Human Movement’s genre-blurring cuts that have lit up dance floors from Australia to Europe.
With reputations for pushing boundaries, Human Movement and KLP have each carved distinct paths — KLP as an ARIA-nominated, Platinum-certified vocalist, producer, DJ, and A&R for Sweat It Out; Human Movement as an artist redefining the sound of Australian club music through high-impact releases and acclaimed performances. Together on ‘Restart’, they deliver a track that’s as timeless as it is forward-looking.
For over a decade, Australian-Lebanese producer and DJ Human Movement has carved out a powerful presence in electronic music, fusing UKG, Techno, Breaks, and House with a distinct Middle Eastern influence. His singular sound—weighty drums, deep sub-frequencies, and wubby basslines—has amassed 15 million streams, 200,000 monthly Spotify listeners, multiple records on Triple J, and club support from an impressive roster of international heavyweights including Bonobo, Sarah Story, DJ Seinfeld, and Roza Terenzi. With over 20,000 tickets sold in Australia in the past two years and extensive touring across the UK and EU, Human Movement stands as a commanding live act pushing the boundaries of contemporary club music.
A mainstay in Australia’s dance scene and beyond, KLP is an ARIA-nominated, Platinum-certified vocalist & producer whose collaborations span Skrillex, Kettama, Loods, What So Not, and more. Her music regularly features on Radio 1 and Triple J, on massive playlists like Spotify’s Housewerk & Apple’s Dance XL, as well as the record box of the biggest tastemakers around the world. A trailblazer in dance music, KLP is as committed to building the culture as she is to her own artistry. She has curated an all-women writing camp with Spotify, launched a grant for emerging artists, and is planning a new writing camp around ADE in Amsterdam — initiatives designed to strengthen the community and amplify fresh voices on the global stage. As A&R for pioneering indie label Sweat It Out — the label that broke RÜFÜS DU SOL and Dom Dolla — she is a tastemaker helping shape the sound and future of dance music, while continuing to release her own platinum records. KLP continues to expand her global presence while keeping her sound fresh, instinctive, and distinctly her own.
