The three sensational LA-based talents reunite to create an anthem of resilience, showcasing their strengths with an uplifting, genre-splitting single.
Los Angeles-based yetep is a Korean-American producer with a passion for fostering community through his charitable initiatives, bonding live performances, and emotionally-charged electronic music. LA-based singer/songwriter and producer if found has made a name from fusing punk and emo influences with moody trap and bass music. The pair are uniting their talents alongside standout singer/songwriter Casey Cook for the genre-splitting single “Take Me Down.” The track arrives on Lost In Dreams Records, riffing off the chemistry shown on their previous collaboration “Mistakes.”
“Take Me Down” is an immersive auditory experience that traverses genres and moods, all while carrying the weight of an unforgettable anthem. An uptempo, hypnotic melody sets the stage as vocal bends drift in, giving the track an emotional pull. The brooding intro allows Cook’s sweet yet resilient vocal croons to serve as a focal point. The tension builds before exploding into a high-octane trap drop driven by gritty low-end, filthy melodic flourishes, and metallic percussion. The ever-evolving journey flirts with hints of future bass, as angelic vocal chops float across shimmering synths before building into an epic finale. Tearing down conventional genre constraints, the track hits its apex via a festival-ready progressive house section refined with an uplifting, nostalgic elegance. “Take Me Down” is an inspiring mixture of their respective styles, and serves as a reminder that nothing can stand in the way of true destiny.
Emphasizing the contact points that make this collaboration so unique, yetep shares his excitement around the chance to work together with them again, saying, “This is our second song together, and I think ‘Take Me Down’ really shows off what makes us special. It brings together the old, the new, and who we are right now.”
Shedding light on the creative process and his account on how the collaboration came to be, if found explains: “After the success of ‘Mistakes’ we all agreed to run it back. yetep had an amazing set scheduled for Escape later in 2023, so we got to work immediately to make something that would become a special moment in a highlight performance, having both Casey Cook and me out on stage with him in front of a packed crowd at mainstage. yetep and I knew we both wanted to bring our unique styles to the song, leading off with a heavy trap first half, and then transitioning to an uplifting progressive house drop—mirroring our unique tastes and exemplifying the meaning of the lyrics written by Casey.”
Speaking on how the track pulls together their unique styles, Casey Cook says, “After the response dropping our collab ‘Mistakes,’ we decided to go for round two. ‘Take Me Down’ is such a unique blend of all of our styles and has a diverse mix sonically— from angst to euphoria—showcasing trap to progressive house, giving it a nostalgic flare while feeling fresh at the same time. We’ve gotten to perform this at festivals and shows the past couple years and it’s gone OFF every time. Super excited to finally have this out in the world.”
