Adriatique at Gashouder, Friday October 18th
On the third day of ADE, the fifth Awakenings ADE event was held: Adriatique at the Gashouder.
Adriatique is a DJ and Producer Duo from Switzerland, who first met each other in 2008 and started producing and playing mainly House and Melodic Techno since 2009. With their experience in performing, it could only mean that we were in for a treat. Aside from Adriatique themselves, three other DJs took the stage that night at the Gashouder: Cincity, Tijana T, and Innellea.
For us this was going to be the second Awakenings party at the Gashouder that we attended this year, and we made sure to be there right when the gates opened at 23:00, as we didn’t want to miss a thing of this event!
Cincity started the night with House music, immediately making the incoming crowd start to groove. Of course, we had to groove it out there as well and joined in with the crowd which got bigger by the second.
Next up was Tijana T, who plays acid-dominant techno with elements of house, electro, breakbeat, and trance. By now the Gashouder was packed and stomping it out together to this great set.
Before it was time for the main act of the night, it was Innellea his turn to take the decks at 02:00. His signature melodic sound could be heard throughout his whole set. Combined with the visuals created by the thousands of LED strips that were used all across the roof of the Gashouder created for a very euphoric atmosphere.
At 03:30 it was finally time for Adriatique to take the stage. Starting off with a fireworks show, the set started with a literal bang. During their extended 3 and a half hour set, they blew the crowd away with their music as well. A well-organised mix that truly made you experience the melodic and melancholic vibe that there two were going for.
Just as with the Ki/Ki Awakenings ADE event we attended at the Gashouder, the acoustics of the venue and the visual effects were top notch which completed the whole experience by creating an incomparable atmosphere.
All in all was this second Awakenings ADE event we went to another proper success. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Awakenings knows how to throw a party!
