Hailing from Italian/Portuguese heritage and now residing in the haunting and industrial city La Louviere in Belgium, Vhyce absorbs inspiration from his surroundings where the atmosphere is like no other with its abandoned streets, desolate factories and silent roads.
His latest three track EP on &Friends follows his Far From Reality EP on Waze & Odyssey’s Street Tracks label. It also follows the eclectic One Day We’ll Float EP on Catz ‘n Dogz esteemed Pets Recordings imprint which has seen support from Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM and Kiss FM as well as DJ backing from the likes of Skream and Kim Ann Foxman.
With additional smooth cuts to his name, Vhyce is the producer also behind uplifting summer favourite Armour Cru on Future Disco whilst gracing labels like Boogie Angst, Casablanca Sunset, Kisuné Musique and more with his signature sound.
Now stepping up to Monki’s &Friends, Vhyce delivers on Inner Voice Alive. Boasting dance floor appeal with a touch of Italo class, Inner Voice Alive blends sun-kissed synths with a dreamy vocal hook whilst A Crowd weaves similar Italo melodies with a haunting topline. Rounding off the EP with Sounds I Heard, Vhyce moves into darker club floor territories, which techno infusions, hypnotic vocals and mesmerizing energy.
City streets left abandoned, desolate factories and traffic lights aimlessly switching from red to green without a single car in sight to see them change. These are just some of the haunting images that characterize what the post- industrial city of La Louviere looks like. This seems a daunting context to live in, yet there is a certain atmosphere that you can’t find in any other city. Let’s take Vhyce as an example. This Portuguese-Italian breed steadily worked his way up to a noteworthy musical profile. Inspired by the desolation in these suburbs, or by the boredom, he grew into a self-taught producer.
In 2021 he released music on Catz N’ Dogz ‘Pets Recordings’, Waze & Odyssey ‘Street Tracks’ that has been supported by Pete Tong, Skream, Kim Ann Foxman and played on BBC radio 1, KCRW, Rinse FM and Kiss FM. He still has a few moves to make in 2021 with new music coming on Monki ‘&Friends’, Alex Niggemann ‘Aeon’ as well as a new EP for Pets recordings.
