June 21st, day of the Summer solstice and worldwide ‘Day Of Music’.
Why is June 21st a special day?
June 21st has been highlighted on French calendars for more than three decades. Launched in 1982 in France as “La Fête de la Musique”, by the France’s Ministry of Culture Jack Lang, it is now held on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries. The reason is La Fête de la Musique (Music Day), an event that, in addition to being a celebration of the summer solstice, brings together every aspect of music.
It’s a massive event!
Everywhere: In the streets, bars, parks, concert hall, plazas and beaches to share their music with friends, neighbors and strangers.
Every kind of musician: young and old, amateur and professional
All music styles: jazz, pop, rock, classical, EDM music…
It’s free!
Free concerts will resonate in many places and are open to the public.
Symbol of the return of happy days
Besides the beginning of Summer, ‘Music Day’ / La Fête de la Musique 2021 will mark the return of happy days after long difficult months for all. People will party all together through music. What a special day in particular for the artists, as impatient as the public to find the stage again.
EDM will also be honored at the Elysée (Residence of the French President) tonight through an exceptional program: Jean-Michel Jarre, Cerrone, NSDOS, Irène Dresel and DJ Glitter… Pioneer and new generation of electronic music will offer the public an incredible show.
