ALWZ SNNY Releases ‘Sail Away’ and Interview with Soundrive Music

ALWZ SNNY is back with yet another outstanding tune titled ‘Sail Away’. This time he is reunited with rising rap star Sincerely Collins who previously featured on ALWZ SNNY’s ‘Parachute’ and is known for his silky voice and unique tones. The track is at a slightly slower pace compared to some of ALWZ SNNY’s EDM-centric tracks as he dives deeper into the genre of Country Dance but is absolutely bursting with a tonne of melodic elements that instantly lifts you into a euphorically blissed state.

Stepping away from the heavy synths and guitar that we’re used to hearing from ALWZ SNNY, ‘Sail Away’ is much more of a pop fused track with Country inspired storylines and Electronic elements that playfully tease a drop in the music throughout. The easy to sing along to lyrics adds the cherry on top of this track as it harnesses the potential to dominate charts and radio stations all over the world.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Tell us about the first track that put you on the map in the electronic scene and the journey since. How did you get started?

The first track I put out was ‘Parachute’ with one of my best friends Sincerely Collins. It was released this past January, however it feels like it was years ago. It has been a super fun journey. It is like every day something new is happening!

Tell us about your latest project Sail Away

This song was also a collaboration with Sincerely Collins, it was written in my apartment over-looking the Chesapeake Bay. We could see so many Sail Boats out that day, ironically it was a pretty cloudy day. I played the sax riff and Collins stopped me and said loop that right there. Then he just started writing to it.

Tell us something we wouldn’t normally find out about you?

I am a huge sports fan. Literally nothing gets in the way of my Sunday football!

What single night out has been most memorable for you as a dj and producer?

I was in Baltimore shooting a music video at the inner harbor. It was the first time I went out in a crowded public area as SNNY. Seeing the kids reactions when they saw me. The pure joy in their faces and the smiles. It was the first time I really got to interact with people, it was amazing!

Give us the name of one track that never gets old for you no matter how many times you listen to it?

‘Silence’ by Marshmello & Khalid, it is probably my favorite song. It has got me through some emotional times.

Dream collaboration and why?

Martin Garrix, I love the sounds he uses and also since I am a huge fan of his. I watch his YouTube show and I almost feel like I already know him. It would be a lot of fun!

If you could play any festival, which would it be?

Tomorrowland! When I went there last summer as it was a life changing experience. I think it is one of the greatest productions in the world. The energy that you must feel on that stage is something I dream about.

How do you get a track started? tell us about your production process

I usually like starting with a melody or guitar riff. Then building around that. Drums are usually the last thing I add.

Latest project? What are you currently working on?

I have a song and video called ‘As Long As We’re Together’ coming out October 9th that I am extremely excited about. I started writing it last summer in Sweden. I feel like it has a lot of Avicii type vibes.

The relationship between a dj and the audience is crucial, and yet is seems to be a fragile one – how do you see the balance between giving the crowd what they want and treating them to something new?

Honestly, I just play what I think is going to be the most fun. If certain songs and transitions work and people love it then great! If it doesn’t then I learn from that and try to do it better next time. I just do the best I can while having fun!
