Exclusive Interview

Tell us about that first track that put you on the map in the electronic scene and the journey since. How did you get started?

“Well, I have been on this journey since I was 12 years old but at that time I still wasn’t 100% committed, it was just something that I fell in love with but i didn’t have time. Since that love for music never went away, i started doing it more seriously a couple years ago with my good friend and then it all begin.”

“More serious production and preforming almost every weekend in different places and festivals in Croatia, Slovenia and Italy. I would say that ‘Fuego’ was that first track that put me out on the map and was my first solo produced track. At the beginning i was just playing with different ideas that I had in my head and realized it was really good and cool.”

‘Twinsparks’ is a very unique and interesting name. Please tell us what that name means to you and how you came up with it.

The name was born when my friend and I started performing and we were throwing names around and Twinsparks came into my mind. Twin because we are like brothers and spark beacuse of passion that we both share for music. We do not perform thogether anymore but the name stayed there because our fans recognize it and I just wanted to continue to develop.

Do tell us more about your latest release ‘Quarantine’? It’s been a crazy year with Covid19 and all. What was it like working on this release and what thought process did you have throughout production on this track?

Well, since the quarantine started, I had so much more free time and i could pour out all my ideas which I have a ton, and wanted to make something that would be in a way, a distraction from all the things that have been happening and still are and make something different from my previous tracks.

Please tease us with some information on any upcoming releases or albums and are there any projects you are currently working ? What do you have lined up for your fans?

“I am always working on something new because I have been really inspired with every sound I hear in nature or around me. Right now I am working on two new singles and collaborating with different artists on some new stuff. Also there is a new track in the making that will be different from anything that I have done so far.”

“Recently I released my first album “I am Free” and got really positive reviews, so I am looking forward to make a second one. For now it is not on my schedule, but absolutely in the near future.  Not sure for the exact releasing date for now but you will all be informed in time on my Instagram, so make sure you follow my official Instagram page Twinsparks.”

What event have you performed at that you would say is the most memorable for you and why? What festivals would you like to perform at?

For me all events and festivals have been special! I really enjoy what I do and love performing, that’s when i feel my best. I have some of the best memories performing at night clubs like Biblos and Garage in Croatia with artists Matroda and Chocolate Puma.

What single night out together would you say is the most memorable for you guys and why?

I would have to say performing at UMF or Tomorrowland would be a dream come true

Tell us something your fans don’t know about you.

When I was younger I was playing football and was pretty successful but had to stop due to knee injury. Now I workout when I have time which is mostly at night because I’m busy during the day. I like to run and enjoy calisthenics.

Give us the name of one track that never gets old for you no matter how many times you listen to it?

Baby Shark hahahahaha! I can’t make my mind on just one track but anything from Hardwell. Because of him and his work I became interested in house music and ever since I am a huge fan of his work.

How do you get a track started? Tell us a bit about your production process. How long does it take you to complete a track on average and do you ever get writer’s / producer’s block?

For now I haven’t experienced any serious producer’s block. It usually is a smaller block but then I take a break and leave it. In the mean time I usually take a small trip around the country or exercise, talk to friends or fans. In that time things usually calm and when I start working on tracks again, ideas just start to pop up in my mind. The beginning of making new sounds is hard but once I get started I can not stop until I finish.

The relationship between the audience and the DJ / Producer is crucial, and yet it seems to be a fragile one – How do you see the balance between giving the crowd what they want and treating them to something new?

I am always trying to make something different and keep people guessing in terms of my music, hoping they will like it. I am trying to keep it real and let people see who I really am trough my music and what I do. I am not trying to hide anything but some things must stay private. Overall I am enjoying talking and interacting with my fans and would like to create a community where we can share our ideas, spread positive vibes and inspire each other.
