EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
Tell us about that first track that put you on the map in the electronic scene and the journey since. How did you get started?
The first track I put out is “We party”. It is actually still one my most popular songs. I started doing dance hall and hip hop beats then fell into making electronic music. I love making all types of music but doing electronic music is the funnest to me. I also think it came naturally because electronic music was the first kind of my I liked as child.
Tell us about your latest release?
My song “more” is my most favorite song that I did so far. It is fun, sexy and upbeat.
What single night out has been the most memorable for you as a DJ and producer?
I am self thought and took some one on one classes. The most memorable time I have is the first time I went to my teachers studio and had a lesson. Then I knew this was for me.
Tell us something we wouldn’t normally find out about you.
I am a business owner I started doing music because I was told that I need to get a hobby because all I do is work. I am glad that I picked this up it makes me very happy. I also use my business skills to promote my music.
Give us the name of one track that never gets old for you no matter how many times you listen to it?
My song “More” I really love and played more then any of my songs. It’s very me.
Dream collaboration and why?
I extremely love Diplo. I have been listening to his music for a very long time and love his style.
If you could play any festival, which would it be?
I think tomorrow land is the ultimate festival that electronic music makers dream to be apart of.
How do you get a track started? Tell us a bit about your production process. How long does it take you to complete a track on average and do you ever get writer’s block?
I start by playing and fulling on Ableton or my keyboard until I get a sound that I like then I add to it. Usually after 1 hour or 2 I will complete my song. Then the next day I will go back and listen to it again and I usually will some more changes. Then I will send it out to get mix and mastered. Yes I have got writers block before when it happens I reminded myself that having fun is the key. Then block is done.
Latest track / EP? What are you working on currently? Tell us more!
My latest track is called “tonight”. It is a fun club song I will release it in 1 or 2 months.
The relationship between the audience and the DJ is crucial, and yet it seems to be a fragile one – how do you see the balance between giving the crowd what they want and treating them to something new?
The major thing is to have fun and if you are having fun everyone will have a good time and everything will come fluent and naturally.
