Arizona-based producer Sharlitz Web and fellow Angeleno singer-songwriter Jessy Covets converge to cast their spellbinding and soulful dubstep single, a fateful love story of two dark forces meeting beneath the blood moon.
Two boundary-pushing bass music innovators, Sharlitz Web and Jessy Covets, unite on “Queen of the Dark”— a shadowy fusion of deep dubstep, electro-funk, and noir-inspired soul. Out October 31st via Bassrush Records, the single merges two fearless creatives working at the outer edges of electronic sound.
Born in Chicago and now based in Arizona, Sharlitz Web has carved her own corner in experimental dubstep—a sound equal parts venomous and hypnotic, marked by supernatural tension and cinematic darkness. Her counterpart, Jessy Covets, brings a contrasting kind of alchemy: a Queens-raised, LA-based vocalist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose genre-spanning reach extends from melodic bass and house to cinematic electronic pop. Together, they craft something that feels entirely otherworldly.
“Queen of the Dark” opens in a haze of stirring strings and syncopated, jazz-inflected percussion, setting the stage for Covets’ sultry, noir-inspired vocal performance—a spellbinding narrative of seduction and danger. The groove unfurls through hip-hop-inflected drums before collapsing into deep, wubbing basslines that pulse with old-school dubstep grit. Swinging rhythms and spectral melodies spiral through the mix, embodying the title’s namesake: powerful, elusive, untouchable.

Diving into the enchanting mood and storyline that ties the collab together, Sharlitz Web shares: “‘Queen of the Dark’ came from the desire to merge light and shadow—to make something soulful that still honors the mysterious side of ourselves. I tried to produce it like a spell, channeling the timeless soul of Nina Simone. It’s inspired by a story of two strange souls that fall in love under a blood moon, only to discover that the darkness they feared was the truth that set them free.”
Describing the meaning behind the single poetically, Jessy Covets says, “‘Queen of the Dark’ represents the dual nature within all of us. It’s like the balance of yin and yang; light and shadow. It tells the story of those who, like vampires, try to hide their truth, only to realize that their true nature can’t stay buried forever. The message is that even in your darkest corners, your true love, your purpose, and your people will still find and love you, not despite your flaws, but because of them.”
The release follows Sharlitz Web’s prior Bassrush appearance with “Capoz Web,” her joint track with Capochino from ‘The Prophecy 11’ compilation. That feature drew support from outlets including Skope Mag, Find Your Sounds, Dub Rebellion, and Jungle Drum and Bass, solidifying her as one of the underground’s most intriguing innovators. Beyond her label work, she’s collaborated with Shanghai Doom and AG, remixed Ahee, FuntCase, Jaenga, and Ravenscoon, and built a formidable live presence. Her upcoming performances span Apocalypse Zombieland, Eternal NYE, Fright Night, and Riot Ten’s Dubstep Party in Houston, alongside tour support slots for Deathpact, Black Tiger Sex Machine’s ‘Manga Experience,’ and Level Up’s ‘Parallel Spirits.’

For Jessy Covets, “Queen of the Dark” adds a new dimension to a career already defined by range and reinvention. Known for collaborations with Steller, Buku, Ravenscoon, Sully, and Dabow, she’s also landed sync placements across HBO, Netflix, and Paramount+, underscoring her ability to translate emotion and atmosphere across mediums.
By fusing their distinct sonic worlds, Sharlitz Web and Jessy Covets deliver a collaboration that transcends genre and expectation alike. “Queen of the Dark” reinforces Bassrush Records’ reputation as a home for forward-thinking bass artists—and positions both creators as defining voices in bass music’s next era of evolution.
Fueled by the pain and beauty of all that life has to offer, Sharlitz Web enters the scene to influence the spread of deeper love through deeper venomous freakquencies. Tangling listeners into her web of liquid basses, dark melodies, and hybrid beats, Sharlitz Web transforms low, heartfelt frequencies into supernatural vibrations. To step into her artistic identity, Sharlitz Web channeled the person she loved the most as an ode to her spirit.
Sharlitz Web tragically lost her best friend and little sister, Charlotte. But like a phoenix, she rose up from the ashes and used her pain as the inspiration for her musical identity — thus, Sharlitz Web was born. Calling upon her early musical talents playing the flute and experimenting with sounds across the genre spectrum, Sharlitz Web brings a fresh perspective to electronic music. Once you’re caught in Sharlitz Web, you’ll never want to escape.

The enigmatic producer has established herself through searing original productions like her single “Dark Places” and her “Spider Lily EP” on SSKWAN, her “Spider Cider EP” on WAKAAN, and a number of self-releases, conjuring a haunting atmosphere through nothing but her own deep, dark soul. Representing the next generation of bass music, Sharlitz Web wears the crown of her twisted, beautiful spider web — enter if you dare.
Jessy Covets is a multi-genre singer, songwriter, producer, and DJ from the east coast now based in Los Angeles. Fusing haunting vocals, cinematic bass, and live guitar, her sound blurs the line between electronic and alternative, where heavy bass meets raw storytelling & vocals.
Known for her genre-bending music and powerful stage presence, Jessy has shared bills with artists like Sully and Ravenscoon, performing everywhere from Red Rocks Amphitheater to EDC Orlando and Wakaan Fest. With releases on RL Grime’s Sable Valley, Liquid Stranger’s Wakaan, and Mersiv’s Morflor Records, she’s a rising force driving the next wave of bass culture.
