LEFTI Enters a New Era with “Thru The Night”: Acid Grooves, Reinvention, and the Power of Intuition

LEFTI

Brooklyn-based DJ and producer LEFTI has never been one to sit still. Over the past decade, Alexandro Suarez has carved out a space that bridges the golden age of house with the pulse of today’s dancefloors — a sound both nostalgic and forward-thinking.

As 2025 draws to a close, LEFTI is celebrating ten years of evolution, and his latest single “Thru The Night”, OUT NOW, feels like both a reflection of his journey and a glimpse of what’s next.

“Thru The Night” didn’t come easily. Like many of LEFTI’s most memorable records, it was born from experimentation — and a little creative chaos.

The track took a lot of unexpected turns,” LEFTI admits. “I started with a splice vocal, but ended up recording a new one inspired by it so the track felt truly original. At first, I had my signature ‘LEFTI Bass,’ a groovy, filtered bass line, but the response was lukewarm. One day I decided to rework the track, kept my bass MIDI, and swapped the Serum 2 patch for a Roland 303 bass synth. Instantly, it came to life.”

The decision to trade in a modern soft-synth for a classic acid sound was pivotal. The 303 — that unmistakable squelchy tone synonymous with underground warehouse culture — transformed the record from a solid groove into a hypnotic floor-filler. “I actually ended up using a stock pattern and sound instead of my own MIDI,” he laughs. “It completely draws you in. We love an acid bass line.”

And that’s the essence of “Thru The Night”: a track that captures the raw spontaneity of club energy, merging LEFTI’s refined production chops with his instinct for what truly moves a crowd. The single feels like a conversation between eras — the swagger of 90s acid house meeting the punch of 2020s tech-house precision.

If 2024 set the stage, 2025 has been the year LEFTI broke through to the next level. His single “Deep Down” on DVINE Sounds / Defected Records became a defining moment — a vibrant reimagination of Louie Vega’s “Deep Inside” that dominated charts worldwide. The track soared to #1 on Traxsource’s Tech House chart and climbed into the Beatport Top 25, marking a new milestone for the Brooklyn producer.

That momentum only accelerated. With releases on Claptone’s Golden Recordings, There Was Jack, and Alleanza Recordings, LEFTI has proven his versatility across labels that define the global house landscape. His single “Play” quickly became a staple in DJ sets, holding strong in the top 3 on both Traxsource’s Tech House genre chart and the Beatport Hype chart. Add in club-focused bangers on Don’t Blink’s Low Ceiling and his own imprint Warehouse Disco, and it’s clear LEFTI is firing on all cylinders.

This year also marked a return to remixing — and in true LEFTI fashion, he came back swinging. Official remixes for Lenny Kravitz and Khalid showcased his knack for reimagining big-name records through a deep, groovy lens. “Remixing is about reinterpreting energy,” LEFTI says. “It’s not just about adding a beat — it’s about finding the emotional thread that connects your world to theirs.”

2025 is also the year LEFTI went global. After years as a staple of New York’s house scene, he made his European debut at Amsterdam Dance Event, performing alongside Sam Divine at the Chicago Social Club — a symbolic moment for a DJ who’s long been championed by the Defected family.

Next up, LEFTI is taking the party across the Atlantic. His UK debut is already on the books for spring 2026 — a mini-tour with longtime friend Felix Leiter — and he’s closing this year with a headline Halloween warehouse rave in Minneapolis before diving headfirst into what looks to be his biggest year yet.

On the release front, 2026 is already stacked: a collaboration with CASSIMM on Golden Recordings, a two-track EP on Anthony Attalla’s Incorrect Music, and several high-profile projects still under wraps.

“Thru The Night” is more than just another release — it’s a statement. Ten years in, LEFTI’s sound is sharper, his instincts more fearless, and his presence in the house scene undeniable. His journey has been one of continuous reinvention: from disco-infused beginnings to tech-house precision, from the underground warehouses of Brooklyn to the stages of Europe.

And yet, even as his name climbs charts and lineups, LEFTI remains grounded in the essence of house music — that feeling of connection, of movement, of losing yourself “thru the night.”

With his signature basslines evolving into acid-fueled euphoria, and his creative spark stronger than ever, LEFTI isn’t just closing out a milestone year — he’s opening the door to his next chapter.
