DJ Fuckoff Distills Carnal Energy and Cosmic Attitude Into High-Octane Techno Club Single “Party Rock” via HARD Recs – OUT NOW

DJ Fuckoff

Berlin’s beloved club music purveyor DJ Fuckoff makes her debut on the HARD imprint via her new single, a peak-time underground track that spells out pure late-night hedonism.

Berlin’s fiercest underground export DJ Fuckoff crashes onto the HARD Recs roster with her unapologetic new single, “Party Rock,” arriving October 31st. A hedonistic club weapon brimming with carnal energy and tongue-in-cheek swagger, the track captures the unfiltered essence of DJ Fuckoff’s world: hard, fast, and defiantly free.

Rooted in the wild bush-doof culture of her native New Zealand yet sharpened in Berlin’s concrete jungle, DJ Fuckoff has carved her own dimension in electronic music through her conceptual universe ‘Fucktopia’—an interstellar sanctuary for outcasts, femmes, and freaks who thrive in the chaos of rave. On “Party Rock,” she distills that cosmic attitude into a high-octane techno cut that doubles as both a sex-positive statement and an anthem of total liberation.

A barrage of detuned synth stabs, industrial percussion, and galloping low-end propulsion drive the track, while Fuckoff’s signature MC-style vocals drip with seductive bravado. Her breathy moans and commanding cadence slither through the mix like a siren call from another planet, celebrating the body as both instrument and weapon. It’s pure late-night sleaze with a punk edge—an ecstatic reminder that dancefloors remain sacred spaces for uninhibited expression.

Summing up the mood of her new single, short and sweet, DJ Fuckoff says, “Peak summertime party rock and panty-dropping energy.’

To mark the release, DJ Fuckoff is dropping a limited-edition PARTY HARD thong, merging her provocative aesthetic with the physical freedom her music embodies. The single also kicks off her U.S. tour, featuring stops at EOS Lounge, Grave Warehouse Party (Denver), Avenue (San Diego), Barn Radio (Portland), Public Works (SF), and a warehouse takeover in Downtown Los Angeles.

From her early days spinning Berlin raves to her Rinse FM residency and sets at Tomorrowland, Piknic Électronik, Fusion Festival, Melt, Flow, and HÖR Berlin, DJ Fuckoff has become a cult icon of the global rave underground. A producer, vocalist, and performer in equal measure, she continues to erode genre boundaries—fusing techno, breakbeat, gabber, hardcore, and experimental bass into a relentless, kinetic language all her own.

“Party Rock” channels the peak-time energy that fuels DJ Fuckoff’s universe. It’s a distillation of her journey from New Zealand’s doof fields to Berlin’s warehouses and now the global stage; an artist turning chaos into communion and desire into dancefloor devotion.

DJ Fuckoff is quickly becoming a star in the constellation of club culture. The DJ, producer and vocalist does things hard, fast and with raw intensity – just watch any of her sets that blend techno, bass, happy hardcore, juke, breakbeat and more. The Berlin-via-New Zealand producer and DJ has always felt alien in some way; like she’s not fully from this Earth.

That idea is something she’s relaying through the concept of planet Fucktopia, her own world “where I feel like I am from,” she says. New project Fucktopia: Character Chronicles builds on the planet that she envisioned on her debut album in 2023. The concept record, Fucktopia, was an immersive experience with intricate sound design, where the listener straps in and blasts off into space. The follow-up finds her introducing an army of rebellious characters; Nyx Fuckora, Aurora Fuckora, Nova Riot, Zara Blaze, Vera Void, Kai Fuckora and Cosmo Fuckora. Each character has a full chronicle associated with them, and comes complete with a trading card detailing the strengths and weaknesses of each.

On the intro ‘Welcome x’ we meet Nyx Fuckora, the planet’s comforting and empathetic protector. Amid spacecraft beeps, breakbeats and deep dub bass, there’s an aeroplane PA-style intro from DJ Fuckoff. ‘my pu$$y’ is the realm of Aurora Fuckora, a celestial enchantress with a naughty spirit. Psychedelic drums and colourful synths depict her dark energy. Ethereal figure Nova Riot appears on ‘n0 time 4 games’, a drum ‘n’ bass roller with distorted guitars expressing Nova’s punk rock persona. ‘Universal-ussy’ turns up the tempo, a banging hardstyle track headed up by space babe Zara Blaze.

With an unmatched ability to flirt and seduce, Zara uses her powers to gain secret information from spy bases. Vera Void – a character who is rarely seen but present in the shadows on Fucktopia – calls out throughout ‘Hello?’, laughing enigmatically over the pounding techno beat. The planet’s masculine energy comes in the form of Kai Fuckora, on the pounding WTCHCRFT remix of ‘My Pu$$y’. His presence is spontaneous, loyal and enthusiastic. Closing the EP is one for the chill-out room: a trip-hop inspired cut. It’s there we find Cosmo Fuckora, in the form of a giant presence that’s half-cat, half-alien and as big as a dragon.

It makes sense that DJ Fuckoff feels at home in otherworldly, fantastical locations. Her entry point to raving was via bush doofs in New Zealand – the wild outback parties that played drum ‘n’ bass and psytrance. She got introduced to them when she was very small: her dad would throw them, setting up huge lighting rigs. While she doesn’t remember those very first ones, she later rediscovered the joy of them with friends.

To her, partying in nature is something special. For DJ Fuckoff – real name Zoe Angelina – music was a big part of her childhood. As a kid, she played instruments and loved acting. Her dad would listen to Ministry of Sound compilations; bassline, house and garage, and even bought her a Cypress Hill CD when she was in primary school. Old-school rap and underground dance music, then, built her taste from a young age. You can hear those hip-hop influences running through her sound today – braggadocious and sensual lines from a female perspective. Old school UK rave – as transmitted by those old Ministry CDs – was “a huge influence,” she says. “Every time I have a show in the UK, I feel at home.

Aged nine or ten, she started creating tracks on GarageBand, “atmospheric, with drum loops,” as she describes it. As she got older, she got into partying. At 17, during the last couple of years of high school, she began producing hip-hop and trap beats on FL Studio, inspired by artists like MF Doom and Gangsta Boo. She started DJing at club nights in her hometown, throwing house parties where she would stay on the decks for 10 hours. Aged 21 she moved to Berlin on her own. She’d met a guy in Goa who signed some rap tracks that she produced to his label, and he threw her a release party in the German capital.

She came for that, with just a backpack, and never left. “Starting life in Germany was really hard,” she says. “It took me about three years to get settled and there were a lot of ups and downs. But I think everything has happened for a reason.” During those tough times, she ended up writing her best music. Back in New Zealand she’d felt like she didn’t quite fit in, but in Berlin “I could rediscover myself and figure myself out. People here feel quite open, especially in the music community – I feel much more free and safe on the dance floor.” It wasn’t until a live stream in 2020 that she really caught the attention of the wider dance scene, and other filmed sets on The Lot Radio and Balamii have helped introduce listeners to her genre-agnostic, deep-digging style.

She’s since released on labels including Unknown to the Unknown, Dance Trax, HERAS, Body Language, and appeared on the Boiler Room x Sports Banger stage at Boomtown in 2023. She regularly spins on Rinse FM, and holds a residency at Body Language in Berlin. The outsider feeling that DJ Fuckoff’s had for a while has a logical explanation. “Fucktopia is built on neurospicy energy,” she says. “It represents my mindspace in that things are never really linear, and I have all these different interests and sounds that I love. It’s a space where all those things can coexist at once.”

All the strengths and weaknesses of the characters are built from neurodiverse traits – such as feeling overwhelmed and unfiltered, but also being powerful, empathetic and creative. She’s positioning these characteristics as strengths, while highlighting the struggles that come alongside this, and the EP evokes this push and pull between more lighthearted and darker elements. Kind, enthusiastic and with a philanthropic spirit, DJ Fuckoff’s personality sits at odds with her argumentative moniker. She’s passionate about challenging norms around gender and sexuality and uplifting those who are FLINTA* – a German term referring to those who are not cis men.

She is involved with Femme Bass Mafia, an initiative that mentors femme-centric musicians. Creating a safer space at nights she’s involved in is especially important to her: “I’m really sensitive and I feel people’s emotions very deeply. If I notice that people are uncomfortable or there’s something going on I make sure that someone is helping them. The dancefloor is not a space for aggression.” Fucktopia – and her vision of a freeing space where femmes are at the front – is what DJ Fuckoff is all about. “That’s why I think I get such a good response when I’m DJing,” she says, “because I feel like people can really feel that I’m on the dancefloor with them. It’s an intense energetic exchange that can be really beautiful.
