Surf Mesa and Stace Cadet Fuse Strengths on Heartfelt Progressive House Anthem “The Moment” via Lost In Dreams Records – OUT NOW

Surf Mesa and Stace Cadet

LA-based producer Surf Mesa teams up with platinum-certified singer-songwriter and producer Stace Cadet, a heart-touching progressive house single that has been nearly six years in the making.

Surf Mesa and Stace Cadet converge on a glowing crosscurrent of melody and motion with their new single “The Moment,” out October 24th via Lost In Dreams Records. Surf Mesa’s serene, sunlit take on electronic music and Stace Cadet’s euphoric, rhythm-charged energy unite for a progressive house anthem about embracing change and stepping into a new chapter, together.

“The Moment” finds its pulse in that quiet breath before everything shifts. Stace’s signature rasp unfurls over soft piano chords and shimmering pads, channeling the nervous optimism that comes with new beginnings. Surf Mesa grounds that sentiment in lush, oceanic textures—bright arpeggiations ripple beneath the vocal refrain, carried by a fluid groove that swells toward cathartic release. The result is melodic house with a heartbeat: plush, unhurried, and alive with emotional clarity.

Diving into how the track came to be and its overall significance to how he is reapproaching his craft, Surf Mesa introduces his new single:

“This song is almost like a time capsule for me. It started back in 2019 when Stace wrote it in LA, and it’s been through so many versions and hands that it’s really grown alongside my own sound. I tried collaborating with different artists, and over the years, it matured into what it is now. Finally, in 2023, when I got in the studio with Audien, it felt like the song had come full-circle and really reflected where my sound is today. I’m really excited about this release. It’s the follow up to my last single, “Somebody Like You.” With these two songs, I’ve found myself fully immersed in this melodic progressive world. I’ve gone in the opposite direction of how I used to approach producing music. Instead of chasing fast, surface level moments, I wanted to make records that stand the test of time. My goal was to create songs I can play in my sets for years to come, records that feel like a true legacy for my project, something my kids could one day dance to. We’re releasing two versions: “The Moment” (Original Mix) and “The Moment” (Sunset Mix). The Sunset Mix preserves the original chord progression exactly as it was first written, giving listeners a glimpse into the song’s earliest form. The Original Mix represents how far the song has evolved, a culmination of years of creative exploration and growth. I’m super excited to share both sides of this journey and finally let the world hear a piece of my heart that’s been nurtured for so long. “The Moment” carries an energy that feels alive and genuine. It’s a song meant for connection, something that can lift a crowd while still feeling intimate and timeless. Every melody and rhythm feels like a reminder of why I fell in love with making music in the first place. I’m really excited for my fans to hear this one. It feels like a gift that was given to me, and now I get to share it back with them.”

Echoing the anticipation surrounding the collab, Stace Cadet says, “‘The Moment’ means a great deal to me, it’s the first song I wrote on my first trip to LA and has always been a true piece of myself. Working on it with Surf, who also means a lot to me, has been so special and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

For Surf Mesa, the release continues a creative evolution defined by his self-coined ‘aloe vera house’—a soothing, melodic strain of dance music built to heal and uplift. The Seattle-born, Los Angeles-based producer has amassed billions of streams across hits like his double-Platinum single “ily (i love you baby)” and high-profile collaborations with Madison Beer, Gus Dapperton, NITTI, Zeeba, and MKLA.

Following his acclaimed ‘Come True’ EP, Surf has expanded his artistry through performances at Lost In Dreams Festival, Breakaway, Echostage, Audio SF, and beyond—steadily cementing his role as one of the genre’s most soulful architects.

The Adelaide native and ARIA-nominated artist has earned platinum status and national radio support from BBC Radio 1 and Triple J, with co-signs from John Summit, Anna Lunoe, SIDEPIECE, Armin van Buuren, and Claptone. Known for crafting tracks that exist at the intersection of rhythm and euphoria, Stace channels a sincere emotional core into dancefloor-ready form—a quality that shines at the heart of “The Moment.”

Together, Surf Mesa and Stace Cadet embody the essence of Lost In Dreams Records: melodic, meaningful, and deeply human. “The Moment” captures the clarity that comes with change, where vulnerability meets hope and melody becomes the bridge between them.

Surf Mesa has built a world where feeling meets rhythm—his sound a fusion of warmth, melody, and euphoria.
