Steve Aoki Blends Battlefield Drums and Club Energy for FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves

Steve Aoki FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves

The official soundtrack’s next single arrives on the battlefield TODAY

Following a year of showstopping releases from the industry’s top talent, the FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves soundtrack brings back a fan favorite, Steve Aoki. This global phenomenon steps once again into the Fatal Fury universe with the single ‘Hokutomaru’, the next release in the game’s new OST.

The track sends listeners into an electrifying journey, guided by a soaring vocal that tells the story of a hero navigating a thrilling adventure. Relentless, battlefield-like drums drive the track, building tension until it explodes into a techno-fueled chorus with the energy of a festival crowd. The track demonstrates Steve Aoki’s talent when it comes to seamlessly blending music genres; this time bridging the gap between underground club dancefloors and gaming consoles.

‘Hokutomaru’ is the next facet in Steve Aoki’s stellar 2025 run. As a globally successful cross-genre solo artist, Aoki has collaborated with an impressive list of varied artists, such as Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Robin Schulz, LAWRENT, David Guetta, Trippie Redd, and Jowell & Randy in only 2025, apart from the release of his 38-track long album ‘HiROQUEST 3: Paragon’ with plenty more iconic collaborations.

With each new release, the FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves soundtrack continues to raise the bar, pairing the franchise’s genre-defining gameplay with cutting-edge music from the world’s top electronic artists. Curated by Salvatore Ganacci and already featuring standout contributions from Alok, Alan Walker, Sorana, ARTBAT, Sidney Samson, Solomun, R3HAB, and Luciano, the project honors the legacy of FATAL FURY while pushing its score into uncharted territory.

SNK’s beloved FATAL FURY series first hit the market in 1991, spearheading the fighting game boom of the 1990s that swept the industry thereafter. GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES (released in 1999) has, for some time, served as the franchise’s most recent installment. But that is all about to change: 26 years on, a brand-new entry – FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves – is set to arrive on the scene! FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves features a unique art style that stimulates the senses, an innovative REV System that supercharges the excitement, plus a host of other battle systems even more robust than before.

The game also breathes new life into the series by introducing two distinct control schemes (ensuring fun and excitement for newcomers and veterans alike) as well as other fresh features and elements. The streets of South Town are a hotbed of action, wild dreams, and even wilder ambition. Here, at long last, a new legend is about to unfold…

Counting nearly 3 billion music streams to his name, Steve Aoki is a true visionary. Billboard described the 2x-GRAMMY-nominated music producer, artist, fashion designer, entrepreneur, NFT futurist and Dim Mak Records founder as “one of the most in-demand entertainers in the world.” A Guinness World Record holder for the “Most Traveled Musician in a Single Calendar Year,” Aoki has performed at nearly every top festival around the world, including Coachella, Ultra Music Festival, Lollapalooza, Fuji Rock Festival, Tomorrowland and Electric Daisy Carnival.

As a globally successful cross-genre solo artist, Aoki has collaborated with an impressive list of varied artists, including BTS, Maluma, Snoop Dogg, Linkin Park, blink-182, One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson, Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Uzi Vert, 2 Chainz and Daddy Yankee, on top of having released three Platinum singles, six Gold singles, and over ten Top 10 radio records. After unveiling four Neon Future albums, Aoki recently released HiROQUEST: Genesis, featuring collaborations with Taking Back Sunday, Mod Sun, Kane Brown and more.

Aoki approaches each new endeavor with the same sense of dedication he’s put into his past achievements, including the Grammy-nominated Netflix documentary I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead (2016) and his memoir BLUE: The Color of Noise (2019). In 2012, he also founded THE AOKI FOUNDATION to support organizations in brain science and its research.

His influential record label Dim Mak, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2021, is known for being a launching pad for the careers of prominent acts like Bloc Party, The Chainsmokers, Bloody Beetroots, The Kills, Zedd and Diplo. Most recently, Aoki created the A0K1VERSE, an NFT membership community, powered by the Passport, that welcomes his fans to both virtual and real-world experiences.

Aoki is also executive producer for “American Hiro,” a series in development with FX Networks directed by Jon M. Chu, chronicling the life of his father, Hiroaki “Rocky” Aoki, the legendary entrepreneur and daredevil businessman who created the Benihana empire. In whatever space Steve Aoki enters, the multi-hyphenate innovator continues to set trends and inspire creativity on a global level.
