The conference attracted industry leaders, aspiring artists, and electronic music aficionados from around the globe, solidifying its reputation as a must-attend event in the music calendar.
The workshops held on Thursday, May 25th, provided attendees with a wealth of knowledge on a range of vital industry topics. Experts shared their insights on subjects including Music Sync, Setting Up Your Own Label, Making Sense of The Modern Music Industry, A Fresh Approach To Music Copyright, as well as Rights, Registrations, and Remuneration. These workshops allowed participants to gain valuable insights and practical advice from renowned professionals, empowering them to navigate the ever-evolving music landscape.
Continuing the momentum on Friday, May 26th, the BMC workshops delved into further key areas of the music industry. Topics such as DJ Promo, Communities, Mental Health, The Value of Radio, Record Deal Negotiations, Sales & Marketing, and When Music Meets AI captured the attention of attendees, providing them with invaluable knowledge and strategies to succeed in their respective fields.
The conference also featured engaging activities designed to foster connections and provide unique experiences. Breakfast Mixers and Creative Hubs facilitated networking opportunities, allowing attendees to connect with like-minded professionals and exchange ideas. Additionally, the highly anticipated Toolroom Records Live A&R Feedback sessions offered aspiring artists an exclusive chance to receive feedback and guidance from industry insiders.
One of the highlights of the conference was the Meet The Experts sessions, featuring influential figures from the music industry. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in insightful conversations with esteemed professionals such as Connie Chow, Dance & Electronic Lead at FUGA; Debbie Adebowale, Director Business Development/Music & Label Services at SyncVault; Heiko Hoffman, Vice President Global Artist Services at Beatport Group; Jules O’Riordan (AKA Judge Jules), Partner at Sound Advice Solicitors; and Leigh Morgan, Global Director b:electronic at Believe. These sessions provided a unique chance to learn from experienced individuals and gain a deeper understanding of the industry’s inner workings.
Complementing the daytime events, the Brighton Music Conference also showcased a series of electrifying club and dance events that ignited the city’s nightlife. The opening party on Wednesday set the tone for the conference, featuring renowned artists including Ralph Lawson, Sophie Lloyd, and Simon Field. On Thursday, networking parties took place in the iconic rooftop i360 Pods, offering a panoramic view of the city. Attendees reveled in the sounds of esteemed DJs such as Mark Knight and Alan Fitzpatrick, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. The rooftop parties continued on Friday, featuring an exceptional lineup of talent including Carl Cox, Steve Mac, Dave Clarke, and Lisa Moorish, among others.
