INTERVIEW : In the Booth with KIFFIX member ENOMIA: Sound, Strategy & Studio Secrets

ENOMIA

ENOMIA continues to defy convention, crafting a signature sound that fuses classic house grooves with modern techno power. He’s become a notable figure in Europe’s underground scene, often channeling cinematic quality, mystique and emotional depth.

Known for his rich blend of Tech House and Deep House, ENOMIA brings a darker, emotionally charged energy to the Slap House genre with his recently released single “Trust In Me.” The track pulses with hypnotic basslines, subtle melodic textures, and haunting vocals, pulling listeners into a shadowy groove perfect for late-night dancefloors or introspective solo listening.

ENOMIA’s musical journey is crafted to resonate deeply, both on the dancefloor and within – an invitation to let go, escape the noise, and get lost in the rhythm.

UFO Network sat down and broke down the creative process with Croatian-born, Germany-based DJ and producer ENOMIA.

1. “Trust In Me” has just dropped on Rebel Musique—congrats! What was the inspiration behind this Slap House track, and how did it come together in the studio?

Thank you! “Trust In Me” was born out of that intense moment when you give yourself fully to someone or something—with all the risk and emotion that comes with it. I started with the vocal idea and shaped the entire track around that feeling. Slap House gave me the right mix of emotional depth and driving energy—it’s melodic, dark, and still hits hard.

2. The official music video is a striking animated piece. Can you tell us more about the visual concept and how it connects with the mood of the track?

The video reflects the inner tension of the song—light versus shadow, trust versus fear. I wanted something visually bold that could express the emotional atmosphere of the track without being too literal. Animation gave us the freedom to explore abstract concepts in a cinematic way, which pairs perfectly with the sound.

3. You’re known for blending Tech House and Deep House elements. What drew you to experiment with the Slap House style for this release?

I’m always pushing myself creatively, and Slap House felt like a space where I could express a darker, moodier vibe while still keeping that club energy. It gave me the opportunity to explore a different kind of tension—more emotional, but still super rhythmic and dynamic.

4. How has your background—from Pleternica, Croatia to now living in Landau, Germany—shaped your sound and approach to music?

Coming from Pleternica, I grew up in a small town where music was an escape—a way to dream beyond the borders. There was always a strong emotional connection to sound, even without access to big scenes or festivals. Then moving to Germany opened up a world of underground culture and electronic music. That contrast between introspective emotion and European club culture really defines my sound today.

5. You’ve mentioned Marwollo as a mentor. What’s one piece of advice or lesson from him that’s stuck with you throughout your career?

He once told me, “If it doesn’t make you feel something, start over.” That hit me hard and stayed with me. It reminded me not to get caught up in trends or overthinking. Music has to come from a real place if you want it to connect with others. I always try to carry that mindset into the studio.

6. Tracks like “Tell Me” and “Escape From Reality” have resonated with listeners. How do you maintain a balance between emotional depth and club energy in your productions?

That balance is everything to me. I usually begin with an emotional theme or melody and then build the beat and groove around it. The challenge is to make something that moves people both emotionally and physically—and I think that tension between heart and body is what gives my tracks their identity.

7. What’s your usual creative process when starting a new track? Do you begin with a melody, a rhythm, or an emotion you want to convey?

Most often, I start with an emotion or a concept—something I’ve felt or imagined. Then I’ll find the chords or melodic idea that matches that feeling. Once the core emotion is clear, the drums, bass, and arrangement naturally take shape. It always starts with intention.

8. You’ve built a following not just for your music but also for your dynamic live sets. How does performing live influence the way you produce your tracks?

Playing live is like testing music in real-time. You see what lifts a crowd and what brings them closer. So when I’m producing, I always think about how each element will land in a live set. That energy exchange with the audience is a big part of my production decisions.

9. What role does storytelling play in your music, and how important is it for you to connect with listeners on an emotional or visual level?

For me, storytelling is essential. Even if a track doesn’t have lyrics, I want it to say something—to paint a scene, capture a moment, or reflect a feeling. I believe that when people feel something personal in a track, they remember it. That connection is what it’s all about.

10. Finally, what can fans expect next from ENOMIA? Are there any upcoming collaborations, tours, or surprises in store for 2025?

Absolutely. I’ve got a few new singles coming soon, including collaborations with some incredible vocalists and producers. I’m also expanding my live show and exploring new visual elements to bring more atmosphere to the stage. 2025 is about growth—pushing boundaries, connecting deeper, and evolving the ENOMIA sound even further.
