Bristol-based producer Yoke steps up with HARD35, a four-track EP that captures the essence of his hybrid sound, somewhere between garage house and deep underground house, with a raw, high-energy edge.
Already supported by the likes of Enzo Siragusa, Ben UFO, Reeshy, and Call Super, HARD35 is a confident statement from a producer carving out a unique space on the dancefloor.
The EP is a journey through Yoke’s influences, filtered through a Bristol lens—jungle breaks, weighty basslines, hypnotic garage rhythms, and the city’s unmistakable underground pulse. ‘Final Piece’ kicks things off with sharp claps, distorted vocals, and a sense of urgency from the jump. ‘Respect The Massive’ follows, riding on a swaggering bassline and infectious groove. The vocal loop, “respect to all the masses” acts as both homage and rallying cry, nodding to Yoke’s roots while pushing forward. ‘Serious Slap’ lives up to its name, flexing a tough, melodic structure where sharp synths and alluring vocals weave between dynamic builds and stripped-back drops. Closing track ‘Kick It’ goes deep and low, with a warped bassline and looping “kick it” vocal that bounces around the mix, locking dancers into its heady, rolling rhythm.
With HARD35, Yoke solidifies his place as one of the new voices to watch in UK club music. Meanwhile, DJ Cosworth’s curation continues to elevate Hardline as a go-to label for cutting-edge underground sounds.
Yoke dives deep into the latest Hardline release with HARD35, out on the 10th October via Hardline.
