EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
1. “Midnight Rituals” has a deeper and more sensual feel than some of your previous releases. What inspired the direction behind this track?
“I really wanted to capture that transition point of a summer night, where the sun goes down, the temperature stays warm, and the energy on the beach or the dancefloor shifts into something more intimate. The inspiration came entirely from wanting a track that felt both hypnotic and uplifting. When I heard these incredible female vocals, I knew immediately they needed a deep, rolling afro-house groove to breathe. It’s all about creating a clean, warm vibe that hits you in the chest but keeps you moving seamlessly.”
2. The title “Midnight Rituals” evokes a strong atmosphere. What does the name mean to you, and how does it connect to the music itself?
“To me, a ‘midnight ritual’ is that shared experience on the dancefloor. It’s when the crowd stops being a room full of strangers and becomes completely synchronized by the music. The track has this driving, almost spiritual rhythm to it, which is where the ‘ritual’ aspect comes from. But because it has those bright, melodic summer undertones, it’s not a dark ritual, it’s a celebration of late-night energy under the stars.”
3. You’re known for working across genres such as techno, future rave, future house, and deep house. What drew you back to a deeper house sound for this release?
“I love high-energy, mainstage sounds, but deep house and afro house have a timeless soul that you just can’t replicate anywhere else. With the summer season here, I felt a strong pull to create something universally accessible yet sophisticated. Deep house allows you to focus heavily on the spacing and the emotion of the vocals. It was refreshing to step back from the aggressive synths for a moment and just let a clean, infectious groove do the talking.”
4. The track balances groove, energy, and restraint exceptionally well. What was your production process like when building that late-night vibe?
“Restraint was actually the hardest part! When you’re used to producing big festival records, the temptation is always to add more. For ‘Midnight Rituals,’ the mantra in the studio was ‘less is more.’ I spent a lot of time engineering a crystal-clean low end, ensuring the kick and the sub bass had that perfect afro-house bounce. From there, it was about layering subtle percussion and letting those stunning vocals carry the emotional weight without overcrowding the mix.”
5. Having spent more than two decades in electronic music, how has your approach to producing dancefloor-focused records evolved over the years?
“Two decades in the game teaches you to trust your instincts and stop chasing every passing trend. Years ago, I might have overcomplicated the production trying to show off technical tricks. Today, my approach is much more focused on clarity, feeling, and crowd connection. I know exactly how a bassline needs to sit to move a crowd, and I focus on getting that foundation perfect right from the start.”

6. Your music is often described as unpredictable and genre-bending. How important is experimentation to your creative process today?
“It’s everything. If I made the same track twice, I’d get bored incredibly fast. Experimentation is what keeps me excited to walk into the studio every single day. Merging the rhythmic elements of afro house with the polished, clean production values of deep house for ‘Midnight Rituals’ was its own mini experiment. I never want fans to know exactly what’s coming next, but I always want them to recognize the quality.”
7. You’ve received support from major names including Tiësto, David Guetta, Axwell, and Nicky Romero. How has that recognition influenced your career and confidence as an artist?
“It’s incredibly humbling. When legends who have shaped the global dance music scene play your records, it’s a massive validation of the hard work you put in behind closed doors. It definitely gives you a confidence boost, but more than anything, it pushes me to keep raising my own bar. It makes me want to hand them an even better track next time, which definitely drove the high production standards on this new record.”
8. With “Midnight Rituals,” were you imagining a particular club, crowd, or moment on the dancefloor while creating the track?
“I was picturing an open air beach club just as the clock strikes midnight. The air is warm, the sound system is crystal clear, and everyone is locked into the same groove. I wanted to create a track that works just as beautifully during a sunset set in Ibiza as it does in a packed indoor club. It’s built for those beautiful, sun drenched moments that stay with you long after the summer ends.”
9. You’ve built a reputation for being incredibly prolific, even releasing 48 tracks in a single year. How do you maintain both creativity and quality at such a high output?
“It comes down to discipline and treating the studio like a sanctuary. I don’t wait for inspiration to strike; I go looking for it every day. When you finish as much music as I do, your workflow becomes highly optimized. The key to maintaining quality is having a strict final listening process. If a track doesn’t give me goosebumps or make me want to move in the first ten seconds, it doesn’t leave the studio. ‘Midnight Rituals’ passed that test instantly.”
10. Looking ahead, does “Midnight Rituals” hint at the direction of your future releases, or can fans expect more surprises across different genres?
“Expect more surprises, always! While I am definitely riding this deeper, sunnier wave right now and have a few more melodic gems locked and loaded for the summer, I’ll never stay in one box for too long. ‘Midnight Rituals’ is a beautiful chapter of where I am right now, but the journey ahead is going to keep everyone on their toes!”
