It would not be far-fetched to say that RUDEEJAY’s destiny to be a DJ was written in the stars. Hailing from Bologna, Italy – real name Rodolfo Seràgnoli – was first introduced at a very early age to electronic music classics from Kraftwerk to Klaus Schulze. Since 1998, RUDEEJAY recalls instantly being hooked on listening to dance music compilations and radio mixes on Italian radio. As he grew, so did his natural affinity towards this genre.
RUDEEJAY belongs to a generation where DJs were just DJs – a time before the music world shifted towards becoming producers. He uses this to his advantage when performing as he’s always tuned-in to the crowd’s energy and reaction. It’s no wonder, then, that for ten consecutive years he’s been Resident DJ at Papeete Beach in Milano Marittima, and has shared the stage with legendary acts like Axwell /\ Ingrosso, Laidback Luke, Benny Benassi, Gigi D’Agostino… the list goes on and on.
RUDEEJAY adapted easily with the times, progressing from DJ to producer with a successful string of remixes for artists like Bob Sinclar, Martin Solveig, Klingande, as well as collaborations with DJs from Mars, VINAI and ANGEMI – just to name a few. To this day RUDEEJAY’s mashup entitled “Love You Toujours,” reigns over the dance world having amassed over 6 million hits on YouTube! In 2018 his sensational record, “Children,” was first supported by Tiësto, then by the likes of Hardwell, Afrojack, KSHMR, NERVO, Timmy Trumpet and many others. Most recently RUDEEJAY released “HEY!” with Da Brozz under ‘Generation Smash,’ a sister label of the renowned Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike imprint, ‘Smash The House.’
Just halfway through 2020 and RUDEEJAY already has an impressive resumé of releases – including a couple notable remixes: the first being for Jonas Blues’ ‘Mistakes’ on Universal Music, followed by a collaboration with Tigerlily on Danko’s “Pump It Up,” which racked over 700k streams in no time. Momentum continued with “The Drop” – a collaboration with none other than the godfather of dance music, Tiësto, on his Musical Freedom imprint.
Marked by spirit and tenacity, RUDEEJAY’s musical journey shows no signs of stopping soon. Plus, with industry powerhouses such as The Chainsmokers, Diplo, Tujamo, Alok and many others continuing to throw down RUDEEJAY’s music at some of the most prestigious festivals (and livestreams!) in the world, the Italian producer/DJ is ready for the biggest year of his career yet.
