Following the success of his latest album BLACK MIDAS, electronic music artist ZHU continues to expand the project with the announcement of BLAKLIZT.DC, a music festival set for December 18 & 19 at BERHTA in Washington D.C. The event will feature over 10 artists across three stages. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, November 5 at 10 am ET here.
ZHU’s BLACKLIZT festival will take place in a different city/country once a year. The first edition is taking place in WASHINGTON D.C. Joining ZHU are recognized and up and coming international artists including Dansyn, Fahlberg, HNTR, Joezi, KamJam, Kotiēr, Nico De Andrea, Parallelle, Riche, and TOBEHONEST. The lineup was curated with a focus on artists who have unique connections to ZHU through shared stages and collaborations.
“It’s the message of BLACK MIDAS,” shares ZHU. “Putting a focus solely on the music, counterplaying mainstream and high-production events – BLACKLIZT D.C. is a return to the dancefloor inspired by early underground warehouse parties with a club feel in its DNA.”
ZHU (Steven Zhu) is one of a handful of performers and songwriters in the genre who continue to push boundaries in many forms of art beyond club and music festival culture. Creating concepts and atmospheric experiences for fans, both sonically and in real life, ZHU relentlessly demonstrates a fearless pursuit to evolve today’s music through his artistic vision. It’s techno as an attitude with an all black dress code.

About ZHU:
ZHU first made his presence known to the world with his 2014 single “Faded” which was nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 2015 GRAMMY Awards. Though many know ZHU as a producer and DJ, he’s much more than that: he’s also a singer, performer, instrumentalist, and, importantly, a songwriter and filmmaker, two facets he delved into for his previous project, 2024’s album and film GRACE. He stamped his spot with his genre-blurring 2016 debut, GENERATIONWHY and continued to evolve with subsequent projects like RINGOS DESERT (2018), DREAMLAND 2021 (2021), Musical Chairs Mixtape (Vol. 1) (2022) and Grace (2024). ZHU’s new album BLACK MIDAS is out now.
