“Feel The Funk” brings together two artists whose paths crossed through the Toolroom Academy community, resulting in a vibrant tech house collaboration built for the dance floor. Driven by a rolling bassline, infectious groove and crisp club-focused production, the track delivers a feel-good blend of funky energy and the punchy, driving character of contemporary tech house.
For D/ANNE, the release marks a significant milestone as her official debut. Following the completion of her studies at Toolroom Academy, D/ANNE reconnects with the community that helped shape her creative journey, teaming up with Trish O. for a collaboration born from a shared love of groove-led, dance-floor-focused house music. What began as a creative connection through the Academy quickly evolved into a fully-fledged studio collaboration, culminating in “Feel The Funk”.
For Trish O., the release continues a strong run of music and growing industry recognition. Based in Brighton, the DJ, producer and sound engineer has spent more than 13 years behind the decks, developing a distinctive sound influenced by house, tech house and funk-driven grooves.
Trish O. recently made her return to Toolroom Trax with “Get Down”, earning Toolroom Track of the Week and gaining support across the international dance music scene, including a standout reaction from Capital Radio’s MistaJam. Her productions have also received BBC Radio 1 support, alongside backing from artists including Danny Howard, Jaguar, Arielle Free, MK, Fedde Le Grand and Black Legend.
Her previous release, “Rock Your Rhythm” on Free Your Mind, also picked up BBC Radio 1 support from Danny Howard, Jaguar and Arielle Free, while Arielle Free and Sam Divine took the track to the Tomorrowland Mainstage.
With “Feel The Funk”, Trish O. continues to develop her signature sound while joining forces with D/anne for the beginning of an exciting new chapter. The result is a groove-heavy record that celebrates their shared musical connection and introduces a fresh voice to the tech house scene.
