Austria’s free electronic music Alpine festival, Sound I Escape, announces line-up with Claptone, KILIMANJARO, Joyce Muniz + more, Kitzbühel, 20-22 March 2026

Sound I Escape

After last year’s fantastic Sound | Escape Festival, this year, Kitzbühel Tourism bring you Sound | Escape 2026, running from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd March 2026, with some of the greatest international DJs and Austria’s finest electronic artists.

And the best part? Whilst most Alpine music festivals will cost a fair amount, Sound | Escape is unique in that it is absolutely free – only the reduced cost of the mountain lift pass is required. So, if you are looking to hit the slopes AND hear the best electronic music, Kitzbühel, one of the most stylish and beautiful towns in the Alps, is the place to be this March.

And it doesn’t stop there. Whilst this boutique festival is hosted by the Kitzbühel community, the whole world is welcome, so come and see this Alpine paradise for yourself. You don’t have to have skis or a snowboard to access Sound | Escape either, as foot passengers can bag a daily gondola pass for only €20*. Sound | Escape is inclusive, supporting access to winter sports and electronic music for everyone. This is the future. This is Sound | Escape.

Sound I Escape

Sound | Escape 2026, the third instalment of Sound | Escape, carries on a great tradition of Austrian and international artists meeting on equal ground and extreme altitude! Jan Blomqvist headlined in 2024, and Sven Väth in 2025, so it’s clear that Kitzbühel Tourism know how to curate a lineup. Claptone was THE show to see in Ibiza and around the world last year, with his high-energy live performances and famous gold Venetian mask, the Italian is one of the most famous ‘faces’ in electronic music. Add to that Scotland’s Kilimanjaro, Brazil’s Joyce Muniz, Austrian artists such as Marvin Aloys, Steve Hope and Wolfram. Just incredible.

After two successful editions, Sound | Escape enters its third round – with a further refined concept. Dr. Viktoria Veider-Walser, Managing Director of Kitzbühel Tourism, sees great potential in its continuation: “For many years, our businesses have placed a strong focus on electronic music in the mountains. With Sound | Escape, we’ve succeeded in bringing these forces together and connecting our partners on the mountain and in the valley through an innovative concept. We’re very much looking forward to the third edition of this electronic boutique festival at the most beautiful time of the winter season.”

Sound I Escape

Most of the venues can be reached from the gondola stations on foot. When the party finishes on the mountain each day, you can head back down into the valley in the evening and continue your fantastic Kitzbühel experience with Sound | Escape.

So, what are you waiting for? Visit soundescape.kitzbuehel.com or the Instagram page @soundescape_kitzbuehel and get your mates along for what is the best Alpine party possible. Go on. You wont regret it.
