Scotland’s J Wax and Denmark’s ELOQ connect on their new collab for the HARD imprint, a rugged and club-focused UK garage cut harnessing the coldest elements from their respective stomping grounds.
J Wax and ELOQ freeze the room with “Real Real,” a cold-blooded UK garage heater landing November 21st on HARD Recs. Both artists come equipped with reputations for bending club music into new shapes, and their first joint single locks Scotland and Denmark into a sharpened cross-border exchange. The result is a winter-proof UKG weapon built to carry dancers through the frost.
“Real Real” hits with the bite of a cold front. A snarling vocal loop leads the charge, chopped and cycled with the blunt force of a warning shot. Beneath it, the groove snaps into a buoyant UKG pulse reinforced by brawny 808 basslines, spring-loaded percussion, warped analog leads, cawing textures, and metallic clanks that feel carved straight from icy pavement. Every element is dialed for maximum kinetic movement: rugged, efficient, and unapologetically club-first.
Touching on the frigid nature of their new collab, J Wax shares: “We aimed for a wintery, bass-heavy, club-ready anthem with deep vocals and thick bass; a dark room banger perfect for the club season. This collaboration between Scotland and Denmark delivers a cold dance track that reflects the coldest aspects of our countries.”
Classifying the club-heavy tone of his new tune with a concise breakdown, ELOQ says, “Straight to the point bassy banger; loaded with a solid vocal and some quirky sounds from my OP-1.”
The track has already earned heavy rotation in the wider UK club ecosystem, with spins from Peggy Gou, Job Jobse, Interplanetary Criminal, Bullet Tooth, Preditah, Osmosis Jones, Prozak, and many more. It marks J Wax’s return to HARD Recs after debuting with “Do The Bang,” a breakout moment that pulled in praise from UNDRTONE, UFO Network, Get Some Magazine, Fresh Music Freaks, EVL Magazine, and Find Your Sounds. He’s fresh off supporting Mall Grab at SWG3 Glasgow, adding another milestone to a run that has taken him from Japan to Belgium to Ireland, bolstered by support from Pete Tong, Jaguar, DJ Seinfeld, Main Phase, and more.
ELOQ arrives with an equally deep pedigree. The Copenhagen producer has evolved from an early SoundCloud-era standout into one of the most exciting voices in the UKG resurgence, releasing on Locked On, ATW, Hardline, Pressure, and Rinse. His collaborations with Bushbaby, Diffrent, Sensu, Tseba, and Sonic Girl mirror his hybrid approach, blending emotional detail with club-focused punch. With a coveted Rinse FM residency and a recent slot on the ‘10 Years of Hidden’ Halloween showcase in Manchester, ELOQ continues to solidify his presence across the UK and European circuits.
Together, J Wax and ELOQ land on a sound that feels instinctive for both: dark-room pressure streamlined into a sharp, frostbitten garage cut. “Real Real” captures their shared sensibility—efficient, gritty, and built to go off in the dead of winter—while signaling a potent new partnership for HARD Recs.

Originally hailing from Tayport and now based in Edinburgh, J Wax burst onto the electronic music scene in 2019 with his debut EP Port to Port, featuring fan favourites like “Uber.” Since then, he has quickly carved out a reputation as a dynamic and genre-fluid DJ and producer. With a compact yet impactful discography, J Wax has earned acclaim through standout releases on respected labels including Future Classic, Headroom Records, and PRESSURE.
A founding member of the forward-thinking collective and label Palidrone, J Wax is known for his eclectic and high-energy sets that effortlessly span breakbeat, garage, and techno—cementing his status as one of Scotland’s most exciting rising talents in underground electronic music. In 2020, he released the Blink EP on Inverness-based Kouncil Cuts, followed by the 2022 Demersal EP on Future Classic, which featured “Oceans”—a breakout track selected for the official F1 23 video game soundtrack. The momentum continued with the 2023 1997 EP on Headroom Records, and further with high-impact singles like “Nasty” and “Brat” in 2024, both spotlighted by Mixmag as Tracks of the Year (So Far).
With growing industry support from names such as Pete Tong, Sarah Story, Jaguar (BBC Radio 1 “Dancefloor Moment”), and BBC Radio Scotland’s Artist in Focus, J Wax’s reach continues to expand. He’s been championed by leading figures including Peggy Gou, Interplanetary Criminal, Main Phase, DJ Seinfeld, and Job Jobse. In 2024 and 2025, J Wax debuted internationally with shows in Japan, Belgium, and Ireland. Looking ahead, he’s gearing up for a slate of exciting collaborations with Megra, ELOQ, Gardna, Denham Audio, and King Booo!, with forthcoming releases on Three Six Zero, Hard Recs, No Instruction, and his own label imprint expected in 2025–2026.
ELOQ is a Danish electronic producer and DJ whose dynamic approach to music blends emotional depth with clubby grit. Known for his genre-blurring sound design and playful melodic sensibility, he first made his mark during the early SoundCloud era, becoming a staple of the wonky, future beats, and jersey club scenes, even performing a Boiler Room set back when they were streamed from gritty South London basements.
After stepping back and evolving his craft, ELOQ has re-emerged as a key voice in the new wave of UK-influenced club music, fusing nostalgic garage sensibilities with modern sound design and high-energy execution. His recent releases on revered labels such as Locked On, ATW, Hardline, Pressure, and Rinse have been championed by leading tastemakers including Sammy Virji, Interplanetary Criminal, MPH, Mista Jam and Main Phase, while his track with Bushbaby “Breaka Breaka” has charted and become a fixture in top-tier DJ sets across the world.
With a sold-out vinyl EP on Hardline, a growing touring schedule headlining stages across the UK and Europe, and a residency on Rinse FM, ELOQ’s momentum is undeniable. Looking ahead, he’s preparing a prolific run of releases and major projects throughout 2026, continuing to build his world of emotionally charged, club-focused music that bridges scenes and borders.
