A bold reinvention of the Jiqui sound — 140, UKG, and heavy bass collide.
Canadian bass music producer Jiqui returns with a revamped vision and a powerful new EP, HOTFIX , out October 24 via Create Music Group. The six-track project acts as a hard reset for the project itself, blending 140, UKG, and older dubstep influences with cutting-edge sound design and playful energy.
Featuring recent fan favourites like Droptop , Pump Up , and Masters , the EP is a genre-blurring ride designed to be both heavy and highly danceable. Rounded out with new tracks Pressure Point , Beatdown , and Heat Check , Jiqui delivers a club-ready sound that expands his creative palette while staying rooted in bass music’s core energy.
“I spent the better part of 2024 and the start of 2025 really re-working the Jiqui project,” shares Jiqui. “There were many points where I wasn’t sure what I even wanted anymore. Imposter syndrome and self-doubt crept in hard. But I’m lucky to have great people around me who helped me get back to a place where I’m happy with music again. This EP feels like a real step forward. It’s the first full project where I’m 100% confident and proud of every song. It’s fun, it’s fresh, and it’s me.”
HOTFIX reflects a turning point for Jiqui, both creatively and personally. Known for his dynamic approach to heavy bass, this project introduces a lighter, more groove-driven energy while still maintaining his signature edge. Inspired by the likes of Borne, Xaebor, Simula, ZERO, and Taiki Nulight, the EP marries nostalgic sounds with modern production polish.
HOTFIX marks a strong step forward for Jiqui. With early fan support behind the singles and a renewed creative direction, the EP captures exactly where he wants the project to go — confident in the sound, proud of the work, and excited for what’s next.

FULL TRACKLIST:
1. PRESSURE POINT – A wonky dubstep track filled with catchy melodies and basslines. It’s the most fun track on the EP.
2. PUMP UP – A house/UKG-inspired banger with infectious vocal samples and groovy progressions that make it a fun and accessible listen.
3. MASTERS – Old-school dubstep energy meets modern sound design. This one leans into bouncy basslines and tight, punchy drums.
4. BEATDOWN – The heaviest track on the EP. Brutal sound design, hard drums, and a deep switch-up on the second drop make it live up to its name.
5. HEAT CHECK – Another house/UKG hybrid and one of the EP’s most energetic moments. Bouncy drum flow and thick basslines take center stage.
6. DROP TOP – A bouncy, guttural dubstep closer with boom bap-style drums and a groovy low-end. Simple, effective, and incredibly fun.
