Maryland-based DJ and producer, Austeria, is back again with her third EP titled, Into the Unknown.
Her forthcoming project continues the sonic journey first introduced through her previous releases, Metamorphosis and Cataclysm. Building on these foundations, this 3-track EP incorporates spoken word to bring listeners closer to the core concepts at the heart of Austeria’s work.
Across all three EPs, a recurring theme emerges—growth and empowerment through shadow work. Into the Unknown serves as the next chapter following Cataclysm, representing the pivotal moment after a life-altering shift, where fear is released and the courage to step into the unknown takes hold.
Open to interpretation, the EP invites listeners to explore this transformative chapter with depth and curiosity. Fall further into a chasm of bass and oblivion, and join Austeria on her journey ‘Into the Unknown.’
“With this EP, I wanted to invite my listeners to dive deeper into the story I’m weaving with my music. I’ve given them a taste through my first two EP’s, ‘Metamorphosis’ and ‘Cataclysm,’ but here I decided to use the element of spoken word to introduce them to the core concepts behind Austeria. There is a reoccurring theme throughout all three EPs, a theme of growth and empowerment through shadow work. ‘Into the Unknown’ is the chapter following ‘Cataclysm,’ the moment after a monumental shift in your life where you choose to let go of fear and journey into the unknown. This journey is open to interpretation and there is much to explore, I invite you to listen to this next chapter of Austeria with these concepts in mind. ” says Austeria.
“The first single of my sophomore EP also happens to be the title track and a collaboration with The Lie Within Callie, a talented, rising vocalist from Birmingham, AL. We chatted about the theme of the EP and the lyrical focus, and she interpreted it flawlessly. ‘Cataclysm’ is truly the heart of the EP.”
Austeria is a dubstep producer and DJ based out of the US in Maryland. As a budding pioneer for a new era of bass music, Austeria aims to provide a musical experience that is authentically her in both her production and live performances – resulting in an experience that has been described as sinister, nostalgic, and energetic.
Growing up, dance music had been her means of escape and emotional release. Now, she aims to provide listeners a means of escape and release just like her inspirations provided for her.
Since the project release in 2018, AUSTERIA has started to make a name for herself with her original releases, collaborative efforts with the likes of Zingara and LEVEL UP, as well as performing at Red Rocks twice, supporting on national tours (Subtronics, PEEKABOO, Zingara) and playing some of the biggest festivals (Moonrise, Electric Forest, Hulaween, Dancefestopia, Freaky Deaky) in the country.
