FENIK BECOMES ONE OF THE YOUNGEST PRODUCERS ON EXPERTS ONLY WITH WALKER & ROYCE COLLAB, “UTOPIA” – OUT NOW!
FENIK is making history with his upcoming Experts Only debut. As one of the youngest producers and first Nashville-based artist to release on the label, he reaches the milestone with “UTOPIA,” a collaboration alongside industry heavyweights Walker & Royce.
It’s been two years since Walker & Royce took FENIK under their wing for his breakout debut on RDA Records. The new collaboration came to be after FENIK sent the idea to them, recognizing the duo as the perfect artists to help bring the record to life. The song’s concept was especially meaningful to FENIK as “one of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned so far,” he says.
The inspiration behind “UTOPIA” came from The Utopia Reader, a book exploring the relationship between utopian
and dystopian societies. From it came the realization that fulfillment in life has little meaning without hardship. He adds, “Without pain or lows, there is no such thing as happiness or highs.” The track blends a deeply personal message with FENIK’s signature club-driven production, serving as a reflection of one of his most meaningful takeaways.
“I hope listeners take from this record the same lesson I learned,” he says. “You really can’t look for escapes in the idea of a perfect life, or a utopia, and that you are able to experience happiness and pleasure only because you know what sadness and sorrow are like. If it was always sunny, a sunny day would lose its value, but after a week of rain, the sunny day suddenly has a new sense of value.”
With “UTOPIA,” FENIK enters a defining moment in his career. The release follows a rapid ascent that has taken him from Nashville’s emerging scene to a growing presence across the global dance music community. He’s performed alongside artists including Odd Mob, Matroda, and Chris Lorenzo, while earning support from tastemakers such as John Summit, Dom Dolla, SIDEPIECE, Gorgon City, Valentino Khan, and more. The release marks another step forward for an artist who’s continuing to establish himself as one of dance music’s most exciting new voices.
