Calgary-based producer MUERTE makes his long-awaited debut on NGHTMRE and SLANDER’s Gud Vibrations imprint with “HALO SCAR,” out now as a decisive statement from one of dubstep’s most cinematic architects. Known for pulling the genre into darker, more theatrical terrain, MUERTE has carved out a lane where orchestral composition collides with unrelenting low-end pressure—a sensibility that aligns seamlessly with a label defined by emotional intensity and heavyweight impact.
“HALO SCAR” unfolds like a requiem before it detonates. A melancholic string section stretches across a widescreen opening, punctured by sharp, dissonant plucks that feel both delicate and foreboding.
