A powerful four-track EP blending midtempo, breakbeat, dubstep and rocktronic energy
Rising bass music powerhouse Poni unveils her third and most emotionally resonant body of work to date, the Darkest Hour EP, out today via Welcome Records.
Featuring four genre-blending tracks “Virus” (feat. Gold Souls), “Chokehold,” “Losing Time” (feat. Brassie), and “Hollow Eyes”; the EP dives deep into the darkest corners of the human experience, merging pensive lyricism with explosive sound design.
Combining elements of midtempo, breakbeat, dubstep and rocktronic, Darkest Hour is a cathartic, high-energy ride through pain, anger, vulnerability and ultimately resilience.
Influenced by the raw emotional palette of acts like Bring Me The Horizon, Nitepunk and Kayzo, the EP captures moments of despair, isolation, and the fight to hold on.
“Every track on Darkest Hour is a snapshot of what it feels like to be completely consumed by the shadows,” shares Poni. “Lyrically raw and sonically powerful, it’s the sound of coming face to face with our darkest places.”
