Slowpalace Traces Highs and Lows of Life With Turbulent Trance-Infused Double-Sided House Single ‘back to life / lost’ via NIGHTMODE – OUT NOW

Slowpalace

Los Angeles-based producer Slowpalace returns to NIGHTMODE with ‘back to life / lost,’ a dual-sided release that captures the cyclical tension between renewal and disorientation.

Out now, the project marks his fourth appearance on the label since debuting in 2021, continuing a sonic evolution defined by emotional precision and atmospheric depth.

Leading track “back to life” channels euphoria through contrast, a radiant house cut underpinned by a shuffling drum groove and flecks of distortion. Slowpalace’s signature glitch-textured synths shimmer across a bed of glowing piano keys and disharmonic fills, navigating a journey from light to shadow. Beneath its buoyant rhythm lies a thread of melancholy, a reflection on how resurgence and collapse often coexist.

Its companion piece, “lost,” dives deeper into introspection. Drawing from classic trance motifs, the track unfolds in layers of melodic haze and rhythmic restraint, offering a counterpoint to the brightness of its A-side. Together, the two pieces trace a full emotional orbit—the high and low tides of rediscovery, where moments of clarity dissolve back into uncertainty.

‘back to life / lost’ follows September’s “bettr off,” which drew coverage from outlets including UFO Network, Fresh Music Freaks, Find Your Sounds, Skope Mag, Music on the Rox, Frontview Magazine, Roadie Music, and Music for All. Across his catalog, Slowpalace has proven a master of fusing melancholic textures with visceral intensity, carving out a lane that resists strict genre definition.

Performing alongside artists such as Madeon and label mainstay k?d, Slowpalace—the alias of Judd Muñoz—has cemented himself as a consistently versatile voice in contemporary electronic music. Since emerging in 2018, his work has graced labels including Monstercat, Proximity, and NIGHTMODE, earning recognition as one of Your EDM’s ‘Top Artists to Watch’ in 2021.

His 2024, debut album ‘gemini’ showcased his breadth across house, synth-pop, and indie electronica, while 2025 has seen him extend that versatility through a run of new releases. With ‘back to life / lost,’ Slowpalace bridges emotional resonance and club energy in equal measure—a lucid reminder that every return, no matter how triumphant, carries the shadow of being lost again.

“These two tracks are very special and I relate to them on a deep level. To me, it’s about the highs and lows of life, and accepting the cycles of good times and bad times in life. Finding your way back, only to be lost again. Thank you to NIGHTMODE for believing in these records and for always having my back! I’m always honored to be put on such a respected label in the scene. love y’all.”—Slowpalace
